We finally finished the top part of our deck.  We still need to put some latice on the bottom part but so far what do you think?

Summer Fun

Sorry I haven't reported for a while.  It has been a little crazy around here.  We have been gone so much lately and trying to get things finished around the house not to mention work has been a little crazy too.  

Here are a few pics of the things we have been doing lately.

We went to the dinosaur park with Jess, Shelley, and Kaden in Utah the beginning of this last week.  The kids had a blast.  I found one thing that was pretty amusing...

Jess and Shelley get a little serious when it comes to riding lizards and Kaden could care less, he just wanted to play on the playground equipment.

We also when to the Hill Air Force Base.  We've been there before but Jess and Shelley had not so we stopped for an hour or so.  It was kind of cool to see some of the air crafts and bombs again.

We also went riding motorcycles again with Jess, Shelley, Kaden, Beavis (Jess's friend) and Kayla (Jake's daughter).  We road through same big mud puddles and I got mud all over me.  It was so fun.  Kayla road with Rick for a little while on the back of his motorcycle and then she swapped and road with Jess on the back of his 4 wheeler.  Rick went a little crazy after Kayla got off (I think it was because he had to be on his best behavior when Kayla was riding on back) and he road down into a parking lot and started spinning some cookies and wrecked... I mean, come on, wrecking in a parking lot...

Unfortunately, Shelley was the only one that brought her camera that day and she copied the pictures on a disc as a DVD and I can't pull them off the disk and save them to my computer to put them on the blog.  We'll see if someone smarter than me can help sometime soon. 

Tree Swing

A few days before we went camping, Rick took Kolten and his friend Logan swimming down the road from our house to this awesome tree swing where Kolten met up with his cousin Cody.  They had a blast until it was Rick's turn to swing.  One of Cody's friends asked Rick if he wanted to try it and Rick gladly replied, "Sure!"  As Rick swung out, the rope snapped and he fell in.  Rick later told me about how embarrassed he was and how he felt like a fat butt in front of everyone.  All I could do was laugh.  Cody saved the day though by climbing back up the huge tree and tying the rope back up.  After fixing the rope, he wanted to jump out of the tree into the water, which was about a 30 ft drop into 5-6 feet deep water, but Rick told him he was off duty and wouldn't fix his broken legs if he did.  After much convincing, Cody decided not to jump.  He had Rick a little worried there for a few minutes.
