Pics from the Part-ae

Here we are decorating (& eating) cookies... Yum...

Christmas Day

Christmas day was fun...

NOT SO FUN - Kolten and I got up about 6:30 in the morning to go out and shovel the driveway (I thought I would have plenty of time to shovel and make it in to cook Christmas breakfast - little did I know that I would be 2 hours shoveling) because Rick had to work the night before and would be home in the morning around 8.  He had to drive our Honda to work the day before so that I could take the Avalanch in town for some last minute shopping.  He almost didn't make it home.

For those of you not living in Idaho, it has been blowing and snowing for last few days (excluding today) and the drifts are the biggest I have seen them in quite a few years.  Just to paint a picture for you, Jess and Shelley had to ride their snowmobiles to work the other day because their roads were so snowed in and Jake had to go to work Christmas morning but was told that he would have to go in at noon because the bus was waiting to follow the plow.

When Rick got home on Christmas morning, he helped finish up the driveway and then we opened presents.  After we opened our presents at home we went to Rick's brother's house (Phil) and opened presents with Rick's family.  We opened presents with my side on the eve of Christmas Eve, everyone was kind of scattered over Christmas on my side (not to mention the fighting - again).

After opening presents Rick and I took Kolten and his cousin Jo to see a movie - the new Adam Sandler one - Bedtime Stories (just ok).  Then we took Jo home and got a call from Shelley asking us to pick her up from work because she road her snowmachine to work.  We still were not able to get down her road to take her home and so we dropped her off at her grandma's house to stay the night there.  Poor Shelley.  After finding out about her roads being closed, we also found out that she actually drove the snowmobile to the firestation where Jess was working, because it was closer, and then Jess drove her to work in the ambulance.

What a crazy Christmas!

Jess & Shelley's Christmas Party

Well, I haven't gotten any pics from Jess & Shelley yet but wait til you see them.  We started the night off with some cookie decorating with the kids and talked for a while.  Jake and Tracy didn't get to the party til late in the evening because Kody had a wrestling tournament (which he won, by the way, Kudos to Kody, he is now 13&0 in wrestling) and when they showed up, we played some games that were so fun.

First off - we played a reindeer game -  In this game you get into groups where some of you are the reindeer and the rest decorate.  We used NEW pantyhose to make the antlers and cut out a part for the face, then you blow up the balloons and stuff them in the legs (antlers) of the pantyhose.  Once you get the balloons blown up and the antlers fully formed you decorate them with ribbons and bows.   The team that does this the fastest and has the best decorated reindeer wins.  I should probably mention that Rick, Jake and Jess were the reindeer and the rest of us decorated and took pictures - HILARIOUS!

Next - We palyed a game where you blow up balloons and tie them to your ankle and then seperate into two teams.  Each team tries to pop the other teams ballons.  The team left with at least one player standing, wins.  I will admit, I was a loser both times we played this game.

Then - We played a game where you sit on the floor in circle around a present that has been wrapped in a ton of layers of wrapping paper and boxes.  You have one die that you pass around the circle and the person that rolls a 2 gets to move to the center of the circle and start unwrapping the present.  The catch is that you have to put on oven mits (with a blindfold - optional - which we chose not to use) and try to unwrap the present layer by layer.  The next person to roll a 2 moves to the middle and trades the person that was unwrapping.  They have to put on the mits and take over.  The person that unwraps the entire present, gets the gift inside.  The thing that made this so funny was that just as you got to the middle to get the mits on and start unwrapping, someone else rolled a 2 and you had to switch.

That was the night, hopefully pics will be posted soon!

Christmas Party Pics To Come

We had another fun party at Jess & Shelley's.  Hopefully Shelley will get me some pics soon... I forgot my camera.

This last weekend, we went to Jess & Shelley's for a Christmas party and had a blast.  We decorated sugar cookies, ate, and then played some fun games.  When I get the photos of the games we played I will share.

Kolten's B-Day Pics

Jess & Shelley's Halloween Party '08

The night was full of FUN...
Pumkin Carving
A Bowl of Chili
Jake Farting (Not so Fun)
& A Game Of "Do You Love Your Neighbor"

For those of you who do not know what "Do You Love Your Neighbor" is all about; it is a game that you play with big groups of people, young or old (perferable not older than late sixties - High Risk Game).  You put enough chairs out for everyone to sit in a tight circle with one chair left out for one person to stand in the middle.  The person standing in the middle and says,"Do you love your neighbor" to someone sitting on one of the chairs.  If the person sitting in the chair says no then the two sitting next to that person have to switch chairs and the person that was standing in the middle tries to steal one of the chairs before they two neighbors get sat down.  Whoever gets stuck without a chair is left to be in the middle to ask the question "Do You Love Your Neighbor" to someone else.  If that person being asked "Do You Love Your Neighbor" says yes than they have to follow it by saying something like - Yes, But I don't like anyone wearing red socks or anyone that can grow a beard, ect.  Then anyone that fits this description has to stand up and switch chairs while the person in the middle tries to sit in one of the chairs before someone else does.  The one left standing asks the question again to someone else.

This game can be addicting and dangerous!  See below for some examples:

Top # 1 Picture Of The Night

Incase you have a hard time seeing the details.  Here is a close-up!
By the way, it is Trevor (not Jess) and Shelley you are seeing in the picture.

Jake farting throughout the night wasn't so fun.

Wait til you see what Jake left behind for Kayla...

Watch out Brooklyn!

Watch out Kaden!
Just wait til you see what happened to Kayla, Brooklyn.  You won't put yourself in that position again.
Not once...
But twice, Shelley got the chair stolen from her.

Kaden doesn't realize it yet, but he is putting his life at risk.

Notice in the picture below you see an arm and can't tell who it is...  Well, it was poor little Kayla being violently thrown from the couch by Jess so that he could steal her seat.

And here she is again getting smooshed between two grown adults (Jake and Trevor).  I guess the game is so fun, it's worth the risk she has to take.

(Below) Trev was too slow that time...

But not this time...

Before the wild game started, we carved pumpkins.  Here is Jess and Kaden carving their pumpkins.  Kaden is soooooo CUTE!

Shelley made an awesome bowl of Chili so Kody gave it his sign of approval.

Rick and Shelley always plot out a plan to make things interesting at her parties.  This is what they came up with...

Being the weiner (winner) for carving your pumpkin the fastest.

Unfortunatley, the plan backfired and Shelley had to try to fix it.  Rick still ended up being the weiner but not the winner.
Here we are doing the crappy part, cleaning the guts out of the pumkins.

Yeh!  I found my camera cord yesterday so I can finally put some fun pics on here.  I am going to try to update you on some fun things we have done lately.

Above was a Halloween party that we had at Jess & Shelley's house.  Jess and Shelley like to get Kolten, Brooklyn, and Kayla together for playtime so they threw a party for Halloween.  The party was a blast... Can't wait til the next one - Christmas!
