Christmas Day

Christmas day was fun...

NOT SO FUN - Kolten and I got up about 6:30 in the morning to go out and shovel the driveway (I thought I would have plenty of time to shovel and make it in to cook Christmas breakfast - little did I know that I would be 2 hours shoveling) because Rick had to work the night before and would be home in the morning around 8.  He had to drive our Honda to work the day before so that I could take the Avalanch in town for some last minute shopping.  He almost didn't make it home.

For those of you not living in Idaho, it has been blowing and snowing for last few days (excluding today) and the drifts are the biggest I have seen them in quite a few years.  Just to paint a picture for you, Jess and Shelley had to ride their snowmobiles to work the other day because their roads were so snowed in and Jake had to go to work Christmas morning but was told that he would have to go in at noon because the bus was waiting to follow the plow.

When Rick got home on Christmas morning, he helped finish up the driveway and then we opened presents.  After we opened our presents at home we went to Rick's brother's house (Phil) and opened presents with Rick's family.  We opened presents with my side on the eve of Christmas Eve, everyone was kind of scattered over Christmas on my side (not to mention the fighting - again).

After opening presents Rick and I took Kolten and his cousin Jo to see a movie - the new Adam Sandler one - Bedtime Stories (just ok).  Then we took Jo home and got a call from Shelley asking us to pick her up from work because she road her snowmachine to work.  We still were not able to get down her road to take her home and so we dropped her off at her grandma's house to stay the night there.  Poor Shelley.  After finding out about her roads being closed, we also found out that she actually drove the snowmobile to the firestation where Jess was working, because it was closer, and then Jess drove her to work in the ambulance.

What a crazy Christmas!
